TransAction Florida ~ Out Front on Transgender Advocacy in Florida
Equality Florida’s Transgender Inclusion Initiative, known as TransAction Florida, continues to grow grassroots engagement and influence state public policy through education workshops and speaking engagements across Florida.
We believe that raising up transgender voices is critical to understanding and supporting one of society's most vulnerable communities. This initiative has been instrumental in identifying the need for increased transgender education in many of our society’s fundamental institutions. Our Transgender advocacy has grown from engaging major Florida employers to working with the media, law enforcement, colleges and universities, faith communities, school districts, chambers of commerce and health care organizations. In doing so, we are creating a broader base of understanding and multi-level support from societal institutions which interface with the transgender community. TransAction has also been highly engaged in public policy issues, supporting filly inclusive Human Rights Ordinances across Florida and the statewide non-discrimination bill, the Competitive Workforce Act.
We stand by the commitment that Visibility leads to Awareness, which leads to Education which will result in Understanding and finally, Equality for the Transgender and Gender Non-binary community.
And that is why we are proud to be a part of the three important upcoming events in the Miami-Dade and Brevard areas.
Please see the flyers below for more information about the events and ways you can get involved!
