Prospering In 2011 Conference Well Attended

The Prospering in 2011 business conference held January 25 at Blue Ridge Community College in Flat Rock attracted about 130 area business owners and operators. Transylvania County businesspersons were well-represented at the event.

The keynote presentation, “The Year of Mobile Technology,” was made by Phil Davis, owner of JumpScan, a new web-based, customized QR Code service provider located in Brevard. Davis and Mike McKearin of the JumpScan staff also led afternoon workshops on QR code applications, website design and social networking.

Bob Papes, a management consultant and also a member of the County’s Senior Resource Network, gave a morning presentation on “How to Grow Your Business in a Slow Recovering Economy.”
