Cason Builders Supply Diversifies

Steven Eubanks and Mike Tinsley

Like most construction-related businesses, Cason Builders Supply of Pisgah Forest has felt the impact of the current economic downturn. However, one of the recent strategies the company pursued last year was to further diversify its operations by acquiring two related businesses in the region.

The first action was to purchase Carolina Mulch Plus of Pisgah Forest, which operates three mulch stockyard locations, a mulch blower truck fleet and also is a franchisee for Filtrexx, a soil erosion control company.

The second acquisition was Louis Williams & Sons, a tool and equipment supplier in Hendersonville that also is an authorized distributor and servicer of Makita branded products. The Williams organization is a family-owned and operated business that has been in operation for more than 80 years. click for complete article
