ENTREPRENEUR LAUNCHES NEW VENTURE

Seyl Park displays some of the children’s furniture he manufactures

Is it possible to base a specialized furniture manufacturing business in Brevard and market the products nationwide using a website, social media and networking applications?

The answer is a resounding YES! It briefly describes the business model that entrepreneur Seyl Park is pursuing with his new company, Cheme Designs. The firm currently operates from a combination of a small manufacturing facility off Railroad Avenue and an office at his home in Brevard.

The company specializes in children’s furniture – play tables, chairs, stools, desks, art tables, computer and reading tables and more. The name Cheme comes from Park’s Korean heritage and means “fun” in English.

Park came to Brevard after completing a graduate degree in experiential education at Minnesota State. He worked as a teaching assistant and adjunct professor at Brevard College for about 4 years, but decided in 2005 to enter the business world by establishing Nali Outdoor Wear, a retail shop in downtown Brevard.  complete article
